The Lagarto VFD has just invested in a pair of brand new batteries for the truck and is handling some minor repairs prior to sale. The truck does require some minor repair work due to its used condition, though is in very good condition overall. Purchased by Normanna VFD, Texas in 2008 and then sold to the Lagarto VFD in 2013 to handle major structure fires in our response area, Engine 837 is now a surplus to requirements having only responded once in the last 18 months. Built in 1979 and stripped, cleaned and rebuilt in 1997 following a fire involving asbestos, Engine 837 (formerly Engine 943) was owned and operated by the Jersey City Fire Department, NJ and saw service at the Twin Towers as part of the Ground Zero clean up effort on September 11th, 2001.
The history of this fire truck is what was reported to us by the previous owner, Normanna VFD, Texas. Item must be picked up within 30 days, storage charges will be applied there after.
